Maybe looking away is about privilege. I need to think harder and longer about my choices and recognize that choosing whom I see and whom I don't see is one of the most hurtful functions of privilege.

About This Quote

This is a really great quote that captures the point of privilege. Many of us are not aware of how our choices affect others. We think that our choices are limited to what we choose to do with our bodies, but if we choose to be part of a community or choose to see certain people, we are privileging those people over others. It's a really good reminder to think about what you're doing and how it affects others.
